Obituary

Tend Mup, a beloved father, grandfather, and community leader, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023 in Harare at the age of 71.

Tend was born on January 12, 1952 in Mutare, the son of the late Joseph and Grace Mup. He attended Mutare Boys High School and later graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with a degree in Education.

For 35 years, Tend taught mathematics at Churchill High School in Harare, where he inspired generations of students with his patience and dedication. Even after retirement, he continued to tutor students in his community.

An avid gardener and chess player, Tend was known for his quick wit and generous spirit. He served as chairman of the Highfield Community Board for 12 years, spearheading several development projects.

Family

Tend is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mai Susan Mup; his children Farai (Patience), Tariro (Tinashe), and Rumbidzai; and his grandchildren Tanaka, Tadiwa, and Tawana. He was predeceased by his brother Arthur in 2018.
